With a family legacy of dentistry - his father and brothers all pursued careers in the field - Dr. Smulson's passion for dentistry began at a young age. Following in his family's footsteps, he chose to pursue a career in dentistry after high school, driven by a desire to provide top-notch care and make a lasting impact on his community.

Dr. Smulson earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry and completed his periodontal surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 1983. As our in-house expert in periodontal surgery, he specializes in advanced procedures such as osseous surgery, connective tissue grafts, and free tissue grafts. Dr. Smulson's extensive expertise also encompasses scaling and root planing and crown lengthening, ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care for optimal oral health.

Dr. Terrin Nasatir grew up in the lovely state of Iowa. Her college career started at the University of Iowa, before transferring and completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. It was here that she fell in love with the medical field. Dr. Nasatir's goal was to find a career that allowed her to continue to gain the latest knowledge and practical insights, while giving back to her community, and building strong lasting relationships with her patients. Dentistry was without a doubt the perfect calling for her and she feels honored to be part of such a strong and rewarding profession.

Dr. Nasatir received her Doctorate of Dental Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Dentistry in 2012. During her studies, she refined her clinical skills through pediatric-focused rotations at The Erie Family Center in Chicago. Additionally, her involvement with Advocate Illinois Masonic's mobile dental van program enabled her to deliver care to underserved communities across the city, broadening her clinical expertise. These experiences deepened her commitment to making a positive impact on people's lives, whether by alleviating pain, promoting healthy habits, or empowering them to smile with confidence.

Dr. Nasatir maintains professional affiliations with the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, and American Dental Association.
